A refuge for car people
Autobunker celebrates the history of the world’s greatest cars for road and track. We embrace the genius of engineering pioneers and the skill of great automakers, from giant factories to tiny workshops. We applaud car design icons and drink in the culture of the most stylish cars ever to have turned a wheel. We love the hunt for a new car and any chance to drive it with spirit on great roads. We’re here to share our automotive adventures with you, create a refuge for car people, and have some fun on the journey.

Hi, I’m David

Cars have always been a part of my life. From Matchbox toys to Tamiya radio-controlled models to my first car, the plan for my next set of wheels grew more elaborate with each passing year. I started my career in the early 2000s as an engineering graduate with Ford Motor Company, working in their newly-formed components division, Visteon. I designed fuel system components for the Jaguar S-type and X-type (remember when Ford owned the leaping cat?) and dashed between Whitley, Castle Bromwich, and Ford’s engineering centre at Dunton.
My career shifted away from the auto industry and my connection to cars and car people weakened over the years. Finding the time and opportunities to immerse myself in car culture hasn’t been easy. To reconnect with the automotive world, I created Autobunker—a passion project to build a community for people who love cars. I want to be inspired again by all things automotive: great looking cars, how they work, how they’re made, and how they drive.
Autobunker is a refuge for car enthusiasts, fouunded by a lifelong car obsessive. I’d love it if you’d join me on the journey to build it into something special.
